A majority of my cooking is inspired by my boyfriend, C, who can’t put a dish in the dishwasher but can find complex and ambitious recipes calling for obscure ingredients that usually end up being delicious. He curates libations, cooks the meat, and compliments me profusely. C likes to eat good food. I like to cook and like to pretend that I am an expert. I also like to eat.
Almost every Friday, C and I have a gchat conversation at work in which we talk about dinner. Typically, it goes something like this: we agree that we don’t know what to do, we spend far too much time googling recipes, we send each other many options, and eventually we choose absurdly intricate recipes that I only kind of follow. This blog evolved mostly from a desire to save those experiences both for ourselves and for those who might happen to be interesting.
The name of the blog was inspired by this Instagram comment.
C works in finance and I work in education. We live in The Nest, an apartment on the corner of Soho and the West Village.
